Shilajit Resin vs Capsules: Which Is Actually Better Value?

This is the most common decision a first-time shilajit buyer makes, and it is usually made on convenience alone. The arithmetic is worth doing first: capsules and resin are priced very differently once you compare them by actual extract rather than by pack.

When shilajit capsules is the better choice

Capsules are the better choice if you travel often, cannot get past the taste, or know from experience that a routine involving a spoon and a mug will not survive week two. A smaller dose taken consistently beats a larger one abandoned — that is a real advantage, not a consolation.

When resin is the better choice

Resin wins on cost per gram of extract, on the absence of fillers, and on being inspectable: the solubility and consistency checks that reveal adulterated material simply cannot be run on a capsule.

The verdict

If you will genuinely use it daily, resin gives you more shilajit for less money and lets you verify what you bought. If you know you will not, capsules taken consistently beat resin sitting unopened.

Common questions

Is resin stronger than capsules?
Not inherently — it is the same material. The difference is how much of it you get per serving. A typical resin serving is 300–500 mg of pure extract; a capsule may be 250–500 mg of powder of which only part is extract.
How do I work out which is cheaper?
Take the shilajit content per serving in mg, multiply by servings per pack, divide by 1,000 for grams, then divide the pack price by that. Compare the two figures. Resin is almost always lower.
